Although he was a dedicated employee to the first degree (several different company names but the same location for his entire career), he had the odd idea that he was required to retire. He stayed on as a consultant to the company for several more years with an office on site. Today, he is still doing consulting with them from time to time, but is pretty well in full retirement.
