I just bought a new HP with Windows 7 (because my old 2003 had a serious virus attach and my son convinced me better to put the money toward a new one - perhaps my first mistake!). In any event, I was never told that the new computer/Windows 7 would not be compatible with my "old" printer - an HP 5940 - even though the web site indicates that it should be. Five hours on the phone with Customer Support (till 1 am in the morning!) did not resolve my problem. Nor did the next day with 1.5 hours with the Geek Squad - other than to tell me that, yup, the old printer is in fact incompatible. So off to the store I go, buy a new HP printer, the C4680, and, you can guess, it too does not seem to install. I follow all the instructions, etc., but to no avail. Any helpful hints? Do I need to uninstall some s/w that relates to the old printer before the s/w for the new printer will "take"? I am decidedly "low tech" but I am also decidedly frustrated, witness this email to you! All advice gratefully appreciated. And, Happy New Year to you and yours!
